(More customer reviews)I purchased this as a gift for my little train enthusiast, not realizing that it was aged 6-12, and he's about to turn 4. Happily, though, the directions that came with the kit were extremely clear, and it was a great Mommy and Me project to build the first train. Amazingly enough, the kit utilizes all the pieces for the steam train at least, and there are quite a few of them. My little guy found each piece, and assembled what he could under my instruction, and I helped out when he could not get the pieces to pop together. The finished train even rolls, which thrilled him, and we BOTH felt a sense of accomplishment when it was completed. Highly recommended (under $[..]? SOOO worth it!)
